July 3, 2008 – 12:34 pm

Tomorrow is the fourth of July. A big staple item for the fourth is STARS!! Star jewelry will top off that red, white, and blue outfit that you have all planned for tomorrow. With all the barbeques and parties that you have to attend a beautiful piece of jewelry with a star on it will really make you look patriotic!

Here are some examples of star jewelry from JR Dunn that can help you look patriotic THIS and EVERY other fourth of July!

Roberto Coin

What is great about these star pieces is that it;s not just for the fourth that you can wear it. Stars are my favorite so I would use the gorgeous star pieces everyday. It’s an added plus that you can go and enjoy the celebrations of the country’s independence wearing stars. The diamonds of the Roberto Coin star will sparkle with  the lights from the firework.s

Looking for a stud?

June 30, 2008 – 10:41 am

Well jrdunn.com has that hunky stud you have been looking for….

in diamond earrings.

Earrings are one of the first practices to modify your body. These days you see “nouveau” couples (now exes Jessica Simpson gave Nick Lachey diamond stud earrings for an anniversary) man and the woman both wearing earrings. Men wearing earrings in not a new fashion. The first pictures of men wearing earrings dates back to ancient Persia. On these ancient walls it showed soldiers wearing a dangling earring in one ear. In the early 1900s men, sailors mostly, still wore earrings. This represented that they have sailed across the world and have crossed the equator. Ear piercings slowly became more popular through out the years. Now even babies are being pierced and diamond studded at their pediatrics. Diamond studs are now worn by everyone even professional athletes.

Recently, I was helping a friend get ready for dinner ad she needed diamond studs. She found some in a drawer that actually did no belong to her but to her boyfriend. She made a call to ask him if she could borrow something from him, or course he was confused thinking “what could she possibly wear of mine?”

Become a nouveau couple with these diamond studs both you and spouse can share….

Carrot vs. Carat

June 27, 2008 – 12:49 pm

“I never worry about diets. The only carrots that interest me are the number of carats in a diamond.” ~Mae West

Here at JR Dunn this is a true statement. The number of carats of the sparkling diamonds that adorn you hand, neck, and ears are very important. A diamond is to last a woman forever, so why not be a big carat?! I recently came across this necklace on the JR Dunn website and fell in love. This Favero Jewels necklace would be amazing for a black tie event. By wearing this necklace with a black dress it would make you the belle of the ball.

If you are the woman who loves diamonds but does not want to be so flashy this classic Roberto Coin diamond necklace will glitter even in the dark. One of my favorites looks it a simple jean with a black top and all jewelry be diamonds. A small diamond necklace, diamond hoop earrings, diamond tennis bracelet with a diamond classic Chopard watch (one the same wrist), and a diamond ring, will complete this classic look.

Like Marilyn Monroe sang in her song, “Diamonds are a girls best friend.” So why not have your best friend always with you. Diamonds can be worn for that special occasion, a night out on the town, or just go shopping. Complete your look with a shimmering piece of jewelry. A diamond is not an item, it’s an investment….

John Hardy’s Naga Dragon…

June 26, 2008 – 12:12 pm

This Bali inspired designer makes beautiful hand-made jewelry that also respects the natural and human environments. These intricate pieces are designed featuring patterns and shapes that tell stories of the Balinese culture, myths, and legends. For names of his collections he uses Balinese words to represent the culture. Many new collections are being introduced for Fall of 2008 these collections include the Naga Dragon, Langit Sky, and Dot Silang Interlocking. JR Dunn will be the cave for the Naga Dragon.

The naga is a cosmic dragon that is found from ancient Chinese mythology and Asia. The jewelry has two entwined dragons that express a positive and negative force. This dragon symbolizes a life force that brings prosperity and brings health. Several pieces that Jr Dunn carries are bracelets that are woven leather with the dragon motif. This bracelet can be found in black and brown leather. This beautifully crafted piece can be found in silver. Naga Dragon is also found in a cuff with a double dragon face to face. There is a story about a Naga Princess, that walked as a beautiful maiden and was seen by the Sun Prince who descended down to speak to her. By wearing a bracelet from this dragon collection it will be as if you are the Naga Princess.
